About Dubai

Dubai is one of the seven emirates that form the United Arab Emirates (UAE), located in the north-central Arabian Peninsula. It has the largest population in the UAE and is the second-largest emirate by area, after Abu Dhabi.

Globally recognized for its innovative real estate, world-class sports events, and international conferences, Dubai has transformed into a leading global business hub. With over 200 nationalities living and working together, Dubai exemplifies peaceful coexistence and cultural diversity. The UAE’s culture of acceptance — not just tolerance — fosters a harmonious society where people of all faiths, nationalities, and backgrounds can live, work, and practice their beliefs freely. The UAE is often highlighted as a model of interfaith harmony, with its leadership actively contributing to global peace efforts.

Sikh Community in Dubai

In 1971, the Sikh community in the UAE numbered around just 1,000 individuals. Today, that number has grown remarkably to approximately 150,000, reflecting the community’s steady growth and vibrant presence in the region.

The Sikhs in Dubai form a dynamic and apolitical community, contributing meaningfully to all spheres of life — from business leaders to skilled professionals and dedicated workers. Their presence is marked by hard work, integrity, and a deep sense of service.

As one of the most prominent expatriate communities in the UAE, Sikhs have made significant strides, especially in entrepreneurship, with many leading ventures in trading, transportation, and real estate. Others serve across diverse professional fields including engineering, medicine, finance, education, and public service. From accountants and administrators to doctors, bankers, sales executives, and many more — the Sikh community continues to be an integral part of the UAE’s multicultural success story.
